This Virtual Author Visit will be projected onto the screen in the Library Program Room. This program will be "Zoom Draw-Along with Bob Shea." He has written and illustrated over a dozen picture books, including the popular Dinosaur vs. and Ballet Cat series, I'm a Shark, and Oh, Daddy! His characters and animations have appeared on Nick Jr., Disney Junior, and PBS Kids. Bob spends his days writing and drawing. This program is recommended for elementary school-aged children. No registration needed.

EXPRESS YOURSELF WRITERS CLUB: HOW TO SELF-PUBLISH ON AMAZON

Local author Rodney Bond will present details about the self-publishing process on Amazon, as well as discuss marketing techniques, and royalty distributions. Before retiring in 2018, Rodney had written and self-published through a private publisher multiple family history books, and had created a website dedicated to genealogy titled “Many Mini Biographies,” which has over one million hits. After retiring, Rodney began to self-publish history books on Amazon which were based on his research. After publishing six historical books, Rodney then self-published his most recent book, Science + God + Humanity. Rodney also published a book, Messages for Graduates, through a professional company and will discuss some of the differences.

ESPORTS ACADEMY: SPACE ENGINEERS CHALLENGE
Wednesdays and Fridays all June long

Using the Space Engineers software environment, student participants will team up and work together to engineer and automate resource harvesting and production.  Teams will also need to engineer and build spaceships to transport these products in order to store it.  The team that accumulates the largest storehouse will be the victors.  Think of it as a blend of Minecraft and Legos in space. 

This program will be ongoing from June 1st through July 15th every Wednesday and Friday from 1:00-2:30pm.  Participants should plan to make it to the majority of the sessions as this project will require a large amount of time to complete.  There are only 12 spots available so registration will be required. Throughout the summer, the eSports Academy will be hosting a Pokémon hunting contest on our Minecraft server.  Each participant will be given a Gotta Catch ‘Em All Pokémon Tally Sheet that they can build on over the summer.  Players may also grow their Pokémon tally while attending any free play events over the summer.  The top 3 Pokémon totals will be in the running for fabulous prizes.

The eSports Academy will be hosting its monthly Super Smash Bros tournament Sunday, June 19. Show off your skills as you compete against other local players for prizes as well as bragging rights. 
Available for checkout: Wi-Fi hotspots!
These hotspots can provide reliable internet at home or on the go for multiple devices. Hotspots circulate for three weeks and are eligible for auto-renewal just like books and movies. Please ask at the circulation desk for availability or place a hold through the library catalog.
